Sebastopol, CA, January 19th, 2007- West County Architects Win National Award

Persinger Architects in Sebastopol, was among this year’s winners of the American Institute of Architects honor awards, nationally, the most prestigious design recognition for an architect. The Carneros Inn in Napa was one of seven projects nationwide to be honored for Regional and Urban Design. According to the AIA, “The site was designed to make a positive impact on the local community and environment. The project is geo-thermally heated, and all of the storm water is processed and reused for on site irrigation. The jury appreciated that the clear design carries through very consistently from the site plan, through the architecture, into the landscaping design and details….”

It’s been a big year in other ways for the firm. They’ve just moved into a newly constructed “Sustainable office” part of a 10 acre biodynamic farm in the West County. “We’ve been implementing green design for years, but this is the first year that our offices and locale reflect those very design features & elements we’ve been championing.”
